Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:
   • Greet customers as they enter the establishment and assist them with inquiries or purchases.
   • Provide friendly and efficient service at the checkout counter, answering questions and resolving issues as needed.
2. Payment Processing:
   • Scan items, ring up purchases, and process payments (cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments) accurately and efficiently.
   • Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers as necessary.
3. Cash Management:
   • Count and reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accurate transactions.
   • Maintain proper cash handling procedures and adhere to security policies to prevent theft and discrepancies.
4. Product Knowledge:
   • Familiarize yourself with the products and services offered by the establishment to assist customers with their selections.
   • Upsell or promote additional items, specials, or promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
5. Checkout Area Maintenance:
   • Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies (e.g., bags, receipt paper).
   • Monitor and manage the availability of shopping carts or baskets for customer use.
6. Compliance and Reporting:
   • Follow company policies, procedures, and guidelines for cash handling, customer service, and safety.
   • Report any issues or concerns to management, including discrepancies in transactions or customer complaints.

Education and Experience:

• Previous experience in cash handling and retail sales is preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
