As a heavy duty cleaner, your primary responsibility is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in industrial and commercial environments, ensuring a safe and hygienic workspace for employees and visitors. You will perform a variety of cleaning tasks using specialized equipment and cleaning agents to remove dirt, debris, and hazardous materials according to established protocols and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Sanitization:
- Clean and disinfect floors, walls, windows, and surfaces using industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, power washers, and steam cleaners.
- Remove debris, spills, and hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, oils) safely and according to regulatory guidelines.
- Waste Management:
- Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and hazardous materials in designated containers or disposal areas.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Maintenance of Equipment:
- Inspect and maintain cleaning equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure functionality and safety.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and exposure to hazardous substances.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain cleaning logs and documentation of tasks performed, including cleaning schedules and inventory of supplies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding cleaning priorities and any issues encountered.
Tasks
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
- Empty trash cans and other waste containers
- Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
- Work with minimal supervision

Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cleaner or janitor in industrial or commercial settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, techniques, and equipment used in heavy duty cleaning.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in cleaning and sanitation is beneficial.
- Previous experience in heavy duty cleaning, janitorial services, or maintenance roles.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures for handling hazardous materials.
Working Conditions:
- Work in various environments, including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and industrial sites.
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noises; use of PPE is required to mitigate risks.
- Flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on cleaning schedules and operational needs.
