Restaurant supervisor Needed in Canada By Cal City Pizza

As a restaurant supervisor, you will oversee daily operations and ensure excellent customer service in a dining establishment. You will coordinate team members, manage shifts, and uphold restaurant standards to provide a positive dining experience for patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bartenders.
    • Schedule and assign tasks to team members, ensuring coverage for all shifts and maintaining optimal staffing levels.
  2. Customer Service:
    • Welcome and interact with guests, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
    • Monitor service quality and ensure adherence to service standards, providing support to resolve any customer issues.
  3. Operational Support:
    • Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the restaurant, including setup, cleanliness, and preparation for service.
    • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and ingredients, coordinating with the management team for ordering and restocking.
  4. Training and Development:
    • Train new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and cleanliness protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with local licensing and alcohol service regulations, maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
  6. Financial Management:
    • Assist in monitoring and controlling operational costs, such as labor and inventory expenses.
    • Process payments, reconcile cash drawers, and manage POS transactions accurately.

  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
  • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
  • Hire food service staff
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Establish work schedules
  • Organize and maintain inventory
  • Reconcile physical inventories with computer counts

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the restaurant industry.

  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food and beverage service, sanitation guidelines, and safety protocols.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in hospitality management is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house roles.
  • Certification in food safety and alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe) may be required or preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a restaurant environment, including standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to oversee shifts and ensure smooth operations.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, and moving supplies and equipment as needed.
